With the Sex and the City movie approaching theaters soon, many people are reliving Carrie Bradshaw and friends' lives on the Sex and the City DVD's in order to catch up and become prepared for the long awaited movie.

The great thing about Sex and the City is how the characters seem to relate to the generation of independent women seeking relationships. The women of Sex and the City tend to meet people: weird people, funny people, and crazy people. I often asked myself, how is it possible to find people with so many odd quirks and strange personality traits? Is Sex and the City truly a reflection of the independent woman attempting to survive in the urban jungle of New York City?

What makes the Sex and The City series so believable are because people who are represented within the series actually exist. When women meet people, they have to take the huge risk that the person may be "off their rocker". In a world where traditional values are uncertain and women must fend for themselves in order to find decent relations, we encounter strange people all the time.

Sex and the City may be a reflection of real life when attempting to meet people. In a world so fast paced and spontaneous, it may be difficult to meet people who consistently share a similar outlook and lifestyle. However, perhaps life wouldn't be fun if we had to meet people of the same kind. Would it actually be entertaining to watch and vicariously live through the lives of the women of Sex in the City if that were the case?
