One of the best places to meet people is at work. These people already have something in common with you. It's an easy ground breaker to talk about work to meet people at work. I never understood why people shy away from this. I guess they're concerned about what will happen when it doesn't work out. There are some crazy people out there that probably couldn't handle it, but the majority of people are grown-ups. Another great part about meeting people at work is that you can weed out the weird people. Everybody in the office knows the crazy people, the funny people, and the weird people. Just stay away from them. Try getting to know and meet people at office luncheons or parties. This is a great place to get a feel for how someone acts outside of the office and it allows you a chance to quietly remove yourself from a bad encounter without needing to be driven home and walked to the door. Don't be one of those people who don't mix business with pleasure. Get out and meet people at work. I met my current boyfriend that way.
