funny peopleSince laughing is a great stress reliever, I enjoy the company of funny people. I also love watching famous funny people in movies or on television. The Greeks believe that funny people are especially kind hearted, since they enjoy making others laugh. I think the Greeks are correct to an extent. Of course, some funny people are naturally amusing, they don't intend to make people laugh, they simply do. Additionally, our idea of what it comical is, to some degree, subjective. My husband works in law enforcement, and because of the nature of his job, he has become desensitized to certain things. Consequently, he can laugh at situations that make me want to vomit. Sense of humor also varies from one country to the next. The culture and traditions of a country shape the funny bone of the population. I'm British, and we are traditionally wry, sarcastic and ever so slightly cruel in our humor. One of my favorite funny people is a British comedian called Peter Kaye. I enjoy the fact that he doesn't resort to vulgar jokes like many funny people, yet he still manages to make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. I'm not sure if the humor of funny people like Peter Kaye travels well. He refers to aspects of British culture that people here in the United States may or may not comprehend.
