A new sense of morality is on the social and cultural landscape today. Premarital sex, cheating on exams, attending church, abortion and dozens of others have gradually disappeared and a new set of moral values has filled the vacuum left. 

The new morality has more to do with politics than morals. The terminology in this new morality covers words such as: sexism, homophobia, racism and the denial of global warming.

Being a moral person today has no expectations of behavior other than talking the talk, not walking the talk. A good example is Al Gore and his global warming and energy conservation messages.  Gore consumes 20 times the energy that the average American family uses in one year. Gore rationalizes this by purchasing "carbon credits" (from himself). What? Himself?  He is the principal shareholder of the brokerage that sells them.  (More on this in a later post).

Belief in global warming has risen to such religious proportions that there are orthodox rules of behavior. In another time people who went against such orthodoxy were called heretics and tortured or burnt at the stake.

Other examples would be those people opposed to the death penalty but believe in abortion. People opposed to racism and sexism and think reverse discrimination, such as affirmative action, is OK.

Welfare programs are no longer a social safety net but a guarantee of a minimum annual income.  Such actions have condemned generations of people to poverty by making them dependent on the government.

Christians are scary but anyone who expresses concern about radical Islam are "Islamophobic".

Owners of firearms have heavy regulations, but criminals who commit violent crimes are being rehabilitated instead of punished.

The old abandoned morality held society together for centuries.  The new morality is hollow with no effort or commitment required. Our decline is quickly building up speed unless it is recognized by more people what is happening.
