"Beautiful words cannot make our lives better, but a man who has always put his country and her people before self, before politics, can. Don't hope for a better life. Vote for one. McCain."These quotes are taken from John McCain's new one-minute presidential campaign commercial, which will be run on national cable and in key states.
Barack Obama, who is barely a Baby Boomer has often said we must move beyond the Vietnam-era cultural divides and come together for the future. But what does Barack Obama even know about the Vietnam era other than what was taught by former Vietnam protesters and draft dodgers that comprise in our government schools and colleges?
This new commercial highlights John McCain's military service and his five and a half years as a POW in Vietnam. While the protesters and draft dodgers were partying at Woodstock, McCain was being tortured for his service to America. Barack Obama could not even come close to knowing the strength that it took to survive this. He can't know anything about the military. If elected President of the United States he would be the Commander and Chief of all the armed forces. What does he know about these duties? McCain had opportunities to be released from POW camp but refused to do so until the rest of his men were released. This says volumes about his integrity, his love of his fellow man and his dedication to duty.
