Is it your social responsibility to vote?
I often meet people who don't believe that voting truly matters. I also meet people who believe that every vote counts. Many people have fought for the right to vote. To these people who fought for a right to vote, the act of voting has become both a duty and a privilege.
During the time when America was young, you could probably meet people who were white males over the age of 21 that were allowed to vote. Things have since changed. Black suffrage and women's suffrage were turning points in American history that lead to the right to vote for women and minorities. There was also the 18-year olds' right to vote which occurred during the Vietnam War Draft. If they had the right to fight for their country, then they certainly had the right to vote.
To be a voter, all you have to be is a U.S. citizen over the age of 18. It doesn't matter if voters are weird people, funny people, or even crazy people. Because of the people who have fought for our right to vote, it is our responsibility to honor their fight for a better America.
