Everyone seems to be very pleased with previews of Britney Spears' cameo part on "How I Met your Mother." Britney's part in "How I met Your Mother" will flatten her fans. Britney Spears plays a nerdy receptionist with mousy clothes, glasses, plain hair and a serious crush on her boss, Ted. 

Britney really wanted the part. Co-creator Craig Thomas thought that talk of her appearing on the show was a prank at first. However within 24 hours of showing interest a script was rushed over to her and she had signed on. On the day of her first script read-through, she seemed very anxious, but when she saw she was getting laughs she seemed more comfortable. There were nothing but praise-worthy comments from everyone who worked with her on the show. She showed up early for work, knew all her lines and had great comic timing with her jokes.

Her co-star Neil Patrick Harris also couldn't believe how well Britney Spears performed. He actually wondered how many times she had had the opportunity to hang out with other actors and just plain, normal people.  Britney Spears teenage years were after all spent traveling from one concert to another with no time to just hang out and just be a regular kid. As crazy as all her antics have been, she is just a human being with problems which probably stemmed from her non-childhood. Let's hope things get "normal" for her also.
