How can you find a date these days? Is it possible to meet people who aren't considered weird people or even crazy people?
As a female in her early 20's, I can imagine how difficult it could be to meet people these days. With life becoming more and more hectic, it's impossible to meet people through conventional means. Many of my peers have 10 hour workdays. By the time the weekend hits, all they ever want to do is stay at home and watch reruns of "Sex and the City".
Which leads me to online dating. It's easy, convenient, and you can even check profiles out during your lunch break. I've heard various stories about meeting people online. Here are some common statements:
"Well, he didn't look at all like the guy in the picture" or "He claimed he was a doctor, but he's completely unemployed!"
Also, without body language and nonverbal communication, it's difficult to get those vital first impressions. Did you know that according to UCLA, 80% of communication is nonverbal? Instead, we get emoticons. And rather than being aware of first impressions, we end up idealizing the person on the other computer and look for cues, hoping that they will fulfill our expectations.
What do I prefer? To meet people the old fashioned way. Face-to-face.
