By human nature people are very trusting.  Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes being skeptical is a good thing.  I would divide supporters of Barrack Obama to be very trusting and non-supporters of Obama to be skeptical.

I myself am on the skeptical side. There have been quite a few times in my life, and I am sure yours also, that I have been burnt very badly for being too trusting.  My ultimate trusting act would be spending money on ideas that I trusted would make me lots of money.  I have been burnt over and over again.  I really believe I am now skeptical of getting rich quickly schemes.

Lets's take stories which we have heard all of our lives.  For example buying a used car from a stranger and accepting his word that everything is A-Ok.  The engine purrs like a kitten, the brakes stop on a dime, the transmission easily shifts from one gear to another and so. Next thing you know you have paid the stranger the full price in cash and your eyes are glazed over.  You are flying on cloud nine- I bought a different car.  I know this one will be so much better than my old junker.  Off we go down the road.  Wow this car drives great.  Smooth sailing ahead.  I think I'll drive to the beach this weekend and enjoy myself. Uh-oh what's that something is clanking, something is dragging on the road..I'm in rush hour traffic and blocking everyone. My drive shaft is on the ground and I have a lot of disgruntled commuters shouting obscenities at me!   My beautiful car! I believed the change from my junker would be so much better!

How about this scenario. I am buying my first home.  It's so beautiful and perfect and the seller is even going to leave some wonderful pieces of furniture for me! How thoughtful, I don't have a lot of money left over.  I can use that desk and the floor to ceiling shelves and the great bed and mattress.  What a thoughtful person the home seller was!

I move in and I want to move the desk.  We push and shove and low and behold the carpet has been cut out underneath the desk. Oh man! Who does that!  I don't like the floor to ceiling shelves in the family room, let's move them to the living room.  Oh no! the ceiling is starting to fall.  The shelves were holding up the damaged ceiling!

Again it takes me a while to learn, I want to move the bed from one side of the room to the other.  It won't move. It's bolted to the floor! What the heck! When the carpenter comes the next day to help me he discovers the bed has been masking a sloping uneven floor.  I feel like such a fool! My beautiful house! By the way these are real examples! 

Now let's compare this to our presidential election.  What are the Obama supporters taking in good faith? Major one-Obama wouldn' lie. He is only thinking of the American Citizens.  Change is always good.  Obama cares about me!  He never knew Bill Ayers. He was never part of ACORN...What is ACORN by the way? If he did know about ACORN they are just registering legal voters.  He was born in Hawaii. He didn't get a sweetheart deal on his house from Rezko. He didn't insult Joe the plumber. I didn't lie about our soldiers bombing innocent villages. Iran is a small unimportant country. McCain is running a rascist campaign.

On the other side why are non-supporters so skepitical? What are they reading about and contemplating on that causes them to be skeptical?
